Alucobond - composite panel/aluminium siding

Material characteristics
ALUCOBOND is a composite panel manufactured by the ALCAN COMPOSITES Alcan Singen GmbH® company. It comes in three different types - as a panel with a low-pressure polyethylene core, as a panel with fire-resistant polyethylene core, as well as a panel with a non-flammable mineral core. The ALUCOBOND® panels are available in standard widths of 1000/1250/1500 mm, lengths between 2000 and 8000 mm and thicknesses of 2, 4 or 6 mm. The offer of the ALCAN® company includes panels painted using the PVdF technology into uniform and metallic colors, as well as shades of nacre, special effects such as "star dust" or natural stone imitations. Per special request, one may also obtain the ALUCOBOND® panels in any color from the RAL pallet.

Use
ALUCOBOND® is perfect as a building material. It may be used to make sidings - sidings of new buildings or buildings that are being renovated. It also works perfectly as a cladding panel for windows, balconies, attics, stairways etc.

Examples of use of the Alucobond materials Technical data
ALUCOBOND® - composite material consisting of two 0.5-mm thick aluminium layers, filled with polyethylene core of different thickness (a flame retardant version and one without any flame-retardation requirements) or a mineral core (non-flammable version). The treatment of the material may include cutting, bending, milling, pressing, drilling, grooving and rolling. Those processes do not require surface lubrication. The material is firm, impact-resistant, pressure-resistant, and has high resistance to bending and buckling. The rigidity of the 4-mm thick material is 0.240kNm2/m, its strength is 1.75cm3/m and its specific gravity 5.5kg/m3.

Maintenance and cleaning
Frequency of cleaning and the choice of proper cleaning products depend mainly on the weather conditions and the location of the building. The ALUCOBOND® panels should be cleaned using water with an addition of detergents such as milk or soap. The cleaned surface should be rinsed with water and then left until it dries naturally or wiped with a soft cloth. One should not use strongly alkaline cleaning products.
